At St. Patrick, we employ QR codes to monitor the attendance of students in our Religious Education classes throughout the school year.
Every student is assigned a unique QR code, which functions as their distinct identifier whenever they attend mass during their two-year enrollment in catechism classes at St. Patrick.
First Year Students - Your catechist will provide your child with his/her QR code on the first day of class.
Second Year Students - They will use the same code they got in their first year.
Keep or Photograph Your Code: You can either keep the paper with your QR code for the entire two years or take a picture of it with your phone so you always have it handy.
Scanning at Church: Whenever your child attends mass at St. Patrick Church during the school year, they should scan their QR code at the scanners placed on both sides of the church entrance. If you can't find the scanners, feel free to ask the ushers (the people wearing the green church vests) they will show you where they are located.
Scan In and Out: Your child should scan the QR code both when they arrive at and when they leave the church. This helps ensure that they are present for the entire mass duration.
If the scanners inside the church are not functioning when you attend mass, there's no need for concern. Simply take a picture of the non-working scanner and send it to your catechist. They will use this to record your attendance for that weekend's mass and inform the office that you attended.
If you happen to attend mass outside of our town and can't use your QR code, please make sure to obtain a copy of the church bulletin from the parish where you attended mass. Then, bring this bulletin to your catechist during the next class session so we can credit your child with that weekend's mass attendance.
